Hello Basileans near and far,

I haven't blogged in awhile so I thought now was as good a time as any to say a few things.

Hello Basileans near and far,

A Historic Time

Dear Basilea,

I know that we don't discuss politics in our church but I wanted to start a discussion about your thoughts on this historic election as we are about to induct our first African-American President of the United States. Some of you may know that my housemate is very heavily involved with politics and she has worked for the Obama campaign. After talking with her, it made me realize that although we as Christians are called to preach the Gospel, we also are called to impact this world socially for Christ as well...

When thinking about missions, what comes to mind is a trip in the summer to an obscure place or a department of the church, keeping in mind that this comes from a Korean Presbytery context. Within the Korean church, I can not and could not help but think missions was a secondary aspect to what we call the Christian life. Believing I am not the only one with this view, I offer a new and fresh look at Missional outlook.

Website?! We don't need no stinkin' website!

I’m sure some people in Basilea may be wondering why we’re putting so much effort into our new website. Some may think that technology is already such a hindrance, why make it worse? Aren’t kids and adults spending too much time in front of the television and computers? And, I agree that all these things can become an issue. So, I think it is important to look at what are some of the expectations of this website.

As we launch our new website, I first want to thank Kwang for his hard work in getting all of this going. Thanks, Kwang!

I've been given the privilege of posting the first blog ever for this website. I've been thinking about what to write about, and I've come up with something that I think is both interesting and relevant. Hopefully others will agree.
